Today we live in very competitive times and you need to be on your front foot looking for business opportunities around every corner. Our businessleadgeneration.co.uk website, on which we are reporting this story, was started in January 2009 and has pulled in close to 2,000 visitors to over 3,500 pages in each of the last few months. This site now has Google listings in 1st, 2nd or 3rd place for 60% of the main key phrases relating to sales lead generation. On Friday 4th September 2009, to boost our new jondavey.co.uk website, we ran a trial to see how many articles, enhanced by a video story we could push out in 3 hours... I say we, I mean I! Technology allows you to take control... almost!! The web tells me that more people care about celebrity than they do business and you only need to pop into your local corner shop to see the plethora of magazines around who’s been getting wasted on the town, who’s pregnant to who and why being an ex celebrity can make you suicidal. We pushed out 2 business stories, 1 on football and another on BIG Brother... the video’s can be seen here. All the stories were pushed out as the video was in the can and distributed via the relevant social networks, read more here. • The net effect was our jondavey.co.uk website got 200 visitors... 3x its current daily average, it’s a new site, what can I say? • Our newsletter was despatched to 2534 people, 506 have opened so far, 36 clicked through to stories, providing ¼ of the visitors • One article was landed on directly by 26 people, the other 3 by 32 each! Weird how the three articles balanced! • The BIG Brother article had the most number of people leave the site after reading it (40)!! • Our videos were watched a total of over 600 times and keep growing ... and so do the number of visitors to the other videos we’ve published over the last 3 months • Nobody visited the site via our Twittering! Our jondavey.co.uk website was only launched at the end of June. July had 550 visitors, August 1209 and September is now on 399, doubling the daily average for August... and long may it continue...
