Mary Flavelle “Networking Queen” – www.maryflavelle.com When Mary Flavelle chose to leave Business Link after yet another round of governmental reshuffles made to boost statistics she decided to get started by doing what she knew best, running a top networking event for local businesses. In a previous life at Thames Valley Chamber she had run a breakfast at the Coppid Beech Hotel in Bracknell. This event had run its course under the chamber banner and when the Chamber ceased the First Thursday Breakfast the Hotel was delighted to welcome Mary back under her own steam and run the breakfast club once again. An example of how Mary retains strong positive connections where ever she has been! The Keller Breakfast was re-launched in the spring of 2007 and today is limited to 40 attendees and each is full within 2 weeks of being promoted, such is the power of Mary’s magnetism! LiaiseOnline offered their support by building her first web site and featuring events in their Business in Berkshire Monday email newsletter. This has resulted in 50% of new event attendees being driven by our support. In March 2009 over 4000 people visited Mary’s website and her Keller Breakfast was again full! Mary has become involved in many other networks over the last 18 months. In October 2008 she became Chair of the East Berkshire branch of the Federation of Small Businesses, the largest organisation of its kind in the UK with over 200,000 members. With Mary’s input in 2007 as events organiser the local branch saw membership grow by 11% when the average across the UK was 4%. They too recognised the power of the Mary factor. In fact, someone said she should bottle it and so don’t be surprised if a new perfume is launched very soon!!! On the 1st May 2009 Mary is relaunching another of her previously successful events that faltered when she wasn't there to nuture it.
